Project planning and project management

Project management is an active process, in which the goal is on-time, on-dollar performance to specifications -- including testing, training, documentation and cutover. The challenge of project management is not merely administration -- getting the PERT charts right -- but actively anticipating and responding to unplanned events, always having a Plan B.

We have an exemplary record of performance over 30 years in this process.

At this writing we have planned and are managing a major IS modernization program for 4 divisions of CYTEC Corporation, including new operational hardware and software systems, and a management-friendly Distributed Data Warehouse.

Deliveries are on-time to a very tight schedule at costs roughly 2/3 of industry norms.

System analysis and Engineering

Using both industry-standard and own analytical and mathematical tools we design your IS systems, including the interactive effects of hardware, software, communications and people, for long-lived performance to the enterprise business model and strategic plans -- taking into account growth, reliability and statistical fluctuations in operational workload.

We document up front, and plan and specify the testing before building anything.

For the US Navy we planned, engineered and built a world-wide secure telecommunications and image communications system, against fixed-price contracts,

In one recent case we delivered a complete multimedia system, including hardware, software and multimedia content in 5 weeks on a 6-week crash schedule.

Support and consulting

We provide a broad range of support services to complement a client's needs for specific projects or programs.

Under consulting contract to the City of Philadelphia we are modernizing the IS systems for operations and maintenance of the two City airports including PHL, with particular attention to 24-hour operations and management of crises.

Outsourcing of hardware, software, networks, end-user support and maintenance

We provide full-spectrum outsourcing and supplementation of IS operations world-wide, including provision of hardware and software, facility operations, maintenance -- including preventative maintenance -- and training.

For several agencies of the US Government we have provided full on-site IS supporting services for a number of complex facilities.

Executive and end-user training, on-site

Our Executive Institute provides regular hands-on, on-site training for management and upper-level professionals in a wide variety of fields -- world-wide.

All training is conducted by seasoned executives who have "been there, done that." Our case-based training materials are prepared by these experienced executives.

We do not use trainers whose primary skills lie in presentation of somebody else's material.

Personal Trainers for busy executives

Through an affiliate we provide personal training in computer skills for executives who cannot ake the time to attend end-user classes. Training is conducted by skilled professionals with corporate staff experience.

Monitoring and testing of vendors' performance.

Frequently we are retained to monitor the work of other contractors and provide independent testing of results and products.

For a major Government ultra-reliable telecommunications system we provided this engineering and monitoring function, including specifying the test and performance requirements, evaluating proposals, and monitoring all aspects of the project including independent testing.
